A seminar was held in Bishkek, where representatives of Kazakhstan shared their experience in the development of renewable energy projects. The seminar was attended by First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Kursantbek Omurbekov, representatives of JSC NES Kyrgyzstan, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and USAID.
The seminar is aimed at supporting the Kyrgyz Republic in finding solutions to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy, including through the implementation of renewable energy projects. The event was organized by the USAID Project "Energy of Central Asia" and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Green Energy Fund.
Representatives of the Settlement and Financial Center and KOREM JSC presented Kazakhstan's experience in implementing the auction bidding mechanism for the selection of renewable energy projects. Rufat Usenov, Chief Manager of the Department of Renewable Energy Sources of the Russian Federation, spoke about the specifics of concluding contracts with renewable energy facilities, including financial support for the application and fulfillment of the terms of the contract, answered questions from Kyrgyz colleagues about the regulatory framework governing the renewable energy sector in Kazakhstan.
The seminar was held in the format of an active discussion and answers to questions, which allowed colleagues from Kyrgyzstan to understand in more detail the specifics of the development of renewable energy in Kazakhstan.
