We present to your attention the Preliminary review of geothermal resources of Kazakhstan prepared for World Bank and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  The purpose of the study of the preliminary review of geothermal resources of Kazakhstan was to assess the potential use of geothermal resources of Kazakhstan. The scope of the Study includes analysis of available information on the geothermal resources of Kazakhstan with an emphasis on the Ili basin and its sub-basins, Almaty and Zharkent basins, South Kazakhstan. In addition, based on the results of these reviews, the authors prepared two case studies and a number of recommendations on how to use geothermal resources in the country.
