China's largest electricity producer intends to build a wind farm with a capacity of 1 GW in Zhambyl region

Qian Zhiming, Chairman of the Board of the State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC), announced plans to build a station in Kazakhstan at a meeting with Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in China, Liter.kz reports.
According to Akorda, Tokayev supported the company's initiative to build a wind farm with a capacity of 1 GW in the Zhambyl region. The Chinese investor also intends to set up production of equipment for wind farms in Kazakhstan.
Qian Zhimin said that as part of social responsibility, his company plans to build a thermal power plant with a capacity of up to 200 Gcal in the south of our republic.
The parties considered the prospects for cooperation in the production of "green" hydrogen, discussed the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources.
SPIC is one of the top five power producers in China, an integrated energy group with the power industry at its core. Its total installed capacity is 210 GW, including 140 GW of clean energy, which is 66% of the total.
